This year, for the first time, a coalition of 20 Museums residing in the southern section of British Columbia are offering a Tour Guide featuring their facilities. This southern BC route primarily follows Highway 3, beginning with the Tashme Museum at Sunshine Valley and ending with the Sparwood Museum. Along the way, RV parks and campsites, stops of interest, coffee and gift shops, entertainment and service resources are identified. The Museum locations, hours of operation and features are listed for each participant. Each participating site has a unique QR code at the entrance which, when scanned with a smartphone, will send a text message to the host, indicating that the guest has visited the site. The guests registering the most site visits will be entered in a draw to win $250 cash at the end of September, 2024 and will be contacted by phone. The guide books are available at the participating Museums as well as Visitors Centres. A website is available for more information and resources at: This program will run from June 1st until September 23rd at which time, the winner of the contest will be determined. The host for this year’s tour is the Princeton and District Museum and Archives Society. We thank Destination BC and the Tourism Innovation Lab for their support through the Rainforest to Rockies Spark initiative.
